It would have been beautiful if the ending art montage was his adventures after Velvet instead. I mean hey, if I was gonna worship an Empyrean, Laphicet is absolutely the one, but still. and instead he has to spend eternity sitting on a temple watching over everyone instead? It made it even more beautifully tragic that Velvet and her brother's story was ending the way it did, thinking of Laphicet going to be free and live the life his namesake never could, growing up with his friends, etc. Is anyone else kinda bummed out by the ending? As beautiful as the idea is of Velvet and her brother basically sustaining each other and holding each other for eternity, I kind of got some emotional impact taken away from me when Laphicet became an Empyrean. I have never cried at any Oscar-winning, expertly acted movie, but this game had me just about bawling like a baby multiple times. It was my first game in the series and I was not remotely prepared for the emotional roller coaster it took me on haha. So first of all let me just emphasize that this game blew me away hardcore.
